http://www.hungertv.com/blogs/dig-the-new-breed/ DIG THE NEW BREED In September 2011, Rankin and his wife, Tuuli – in association with the global fashion showcase, On|Off – hosted Dig the New Breed at the Annroy Gallery. The selected works of 52 emerging artists were chosen to represent the finest young photographic talent as part of London Fashion Week. Tuuli and Rankin were hugely inspired by the photographers they discovered during the making of the collaborative project, “On|Off Tuuli Fanzine”. They sought to provide a platform for burgeoning fashion photographers, who proved to be increasingly creative in their ideas, experimental in their technique, and professional in their practices. The pair cast a wide net, welcoming hundreds of submissions. Spanning beauty and fashion, the chosen artists experimented with digital techniques, defended the sanctity of film, and utilised fine art craftsmanship in their approaches. We loved the work of all selected artists, especially Grant Thomas, Mariell Amélie, Lakita Chan, Andy Houghton, and Damien Fry.
